Overview
Ironeye is seeking an early-career to early mid-level Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Administrator II to support onsite validation, regression testing, patch verification, and production reboot activities for integrated security systems in Washington, DC. The role will support access control, video management, keybox, and related security applications by validating system access, reviewing service and application health, confirming database and device communication, supporting controlled maintenance windows, and documenting issues found during test and production activities. A successful candidate should be detail-oriented, comfortable following defined procedures, able to work in a production support environment, and capable of clearly documenting technical findings for customer and team review.
responsibilities
Support onsite validation, regression testing, patch verification, and production reboot activities for integrated electronic security systems.
Validate user access, system functionality, alarms, video feeds, device status, and application behavior after patches, configuration changes, or scheduled maintenance.
Execute documented test procedures and record clear, accurate results for access control, video management, keybox, and related security applications.
Monitor system behavior during maintenance windows and identify issues affecting availability, functionality, performance, or user access.
Review system outputs, logs, alerts, and user reports to support troubleshooting and issue escalation.
Document defects, anomalies, validation results, and operational impacts in a clear and repeatable manner.
Coordinate with customer personnel, system administrators, vendors, and technical teams to support issue resolution and operational continuity.
Assist with routine system administration tasks, including account validation, status checks, basic configuration review, and operational support activities.
Follow customer site procedures, security requirements, change-management expectations, and maintenance-window instructions.
Support production stability by confirming that security systems remain functional, available, and ready for customer use after maintenance or reboot activities.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum experience may be satisfied through one of the following combinations
High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience;
Associate degree or technical training in information technology, information systems, computer science, engineering, electronics, networking, cybersecurity, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, engineering, electronics, networking, cybersecurity, or a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience.
Certifications
Required: None.
Preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals certifications, or vendor/platform training related to LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, AMAG, Software House, access control, VMS, or key management systems.
Required Experience
1 to 3 years of relevant experience, depending on education, training, and directly applicable hands-on background.
Basic experience supporting or troubleshooting Windows-based systems, including user login, service status, restarts, event logs, network connectivity, and application availability.
Basic familiarity with network connectivity concepts, including IP addressing, host reachability, client/server communication, and device online/offline status.
Ability to follow test procedures, maintenance-window instructions, checklists, and customer-approved work steps with attention to detail.
Experience documenting technical findings, issue status, errors, test results, or support activity in clear written form.
Basic familiarity with client/server applications, databases, application services, device communication, and user access concepts.
Ability to communicate professionally with customer points of contact, technical staff, operators, and internal team members.
Preferred Experience
Experience with access control systems, video management systems, key management/keybox systems, electronic security systems, or physical security technology environments.
Experience validating system functionality after patching, updates, reboots, configuration changes, or maintenance windows.
Familiarity with SQL database connectivity concepts, licensing services, directory services, storage paths, recording services, or other application dependencies.
Experience reviewing camera status, live video, recorded video playback, recording schedules, archiver/storage health, or VMS client functionality.
Experience reviewing access control panels, door status, inputs, outputs, alarms, events, cardholders, credentials, or access levels.
Experience working in a federal, government-contractor, facilities, museum, campus security, or enterprise security operations environment.
Experience preparing test summaries, issue logs, maintenance reports, or customer-facing technical documentation.

Ironeye expects to offer the following benefits for this position, subject to plan terms and eligibility:

The base salary range for this position is USD $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
Final compensation will be based on role requirements, relevant experience, qualifications, and contract constraints. This position is classified as non-exempt unless otherwise determined based on final contract duties, and overtime will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
